Welcome to The Insurance Place

As an independent agency, we have the ability to select from a wide variety of insurance products to suit each client's situation. We do a thorough, needs-based analysis for every client, which narrows down a crowded marketplace to several excellent personalized options. If you are Medicare eligible, we can help you choose the right plan, whether it be a Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage Plan, or a Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

We help individuals and families find major medical insurance, too. The Insurance Place will interact directly with insurance carriers, and also work through Health Sherpa for tax credit subsidies. See more information under Individual Health Insurance.

Our goal is to provide you with the ideal choice of insurance to complement and enhance your lifestyle, budget and health care needs.

Annual Election Period

We anticipate speaking with many of you during the Annual Enrollment Period, which takes place October 15th — December 7th, for those who have Medicare Advantage (MAPD) or stand-alone prescription drug plans (PDP). For each scheduled review, we will need an updated medication list, and a signed Scope of Appointment (SOA), which is a Medicare required permission slip that allows your agent to speak with you.

A significant change taking place in 2025 includes a $2000 cap on out-of-pocket prescription drug costs, as a restructuring of Part D benefits becomes effective January 1, 2025. These changes, part of the Inflation Reduction Act or IRA, aim to reduce costs and out-of-pocket prescription drug spending.

We will need the following:

  • Your Medicare card - a mix of letters and numbers
  • Name of your Primary Care Doctor
  • Full prescription drug list, including dosage and frequency
  • Name of your pharmacy

*****
If you want to review your Part D prescription drug plan (stand-alone Part D), please mail, scan and email, or FAX your current list of prescriptions by the end of September 2024. We ask for a fresh list every year. There may be changes with the name of your drug plan, due to mergers and acquisitions in 2024.

Open Enrollment Period for Major Medical plans for 2025

OEP begins on November 1, 2024 for policyholders who have individual and family Major Medical plans. We have options for 2025. We will be sending postcards out to our current clients at the end of October to remind you of this timeframe. We work with our clients to maintain the coverage for you and your family.

"We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options." Required disclaimer from CMS 2025 AEP.

WE NEED YOUR EMAILS! If you are a current client and we do not have your email address, we would very much like to have that additional way to be in contact with you. The nature of the insurance business continues to shift to online and emails will soon be almost essential.
